Atmo Suit Dock

Overview

The Atmo Suit Dock is the station used to supply Atmo Suits with oxygen and clear their waste, allowing Duplicants to keep wearing suits for extended work in hazardous areas. It functions as part of the Atmo Suit system and must be placed in the correct orientation relative to an Atmo Suit Checkpoint: it needs to be built on the entrance side of the checkpoint, matching the tail end of the checkpoint’s placement arrow. Docks can be arranged in rows without gaps, and they may be offset horizontally as needed.

An Atmo Suit Dock stores up to 200 kg of oxygen internally, but it only fills that reserve when connected to a powered electrical grid. Filling the dock’s internal oxygen storage does not itself consume power or respond to disable commands; power is used only when the dock is actively charging suits. When operating, it consumes 120 W and delivers oxygen to suits at a maximum throughput of 1000 g/s. Standard Duplicants consume 100 g/s of oxygen, so a suit needs about 1 second of charging for every 18 seconds it is worn.

  • Only one suit can charge at a time.
  • The dock also empties Atmo Suits of waste while charging them.
  • When inspecting a dock that contains a suit, the contents view may show multiple lines of oxygen and suit information; the suit’s own oxygen charge is the relevant value to check, not the dock’s stored oxygen or the suit’s mass entry.
  • If a dock has no preloaded oxygen, it will not reduce charging speed or power use once it begins charging; instead, it waits until enough oxygen is available and then charges in bursts. This does not change its average power consumption.
  • If a Duplicant wears a suit continuously, the average power cost per dock is about 6.67 W, based on the suit’s intermittent charging cycle.
