Pepper Bread

Overview
Pepper Bread is a cooked food made at the Gas Range from Sleet Wheat Grain or Megafrond Grain and Pincha Peppernut. It is a late-game meal that combines a grain crop with a spicy ingredient, making it one of the more specialized foods on the menu.
It is prepared using 10 Sleet Wheat Grain or Megafrond Grain and 1 Pincha Peppernut per serving. Because it requires a Gas Range, it sits in the same production tier as other advanced cooked foods rather than basic mush bars or grill recipes.
Pepper Bread can also be processed in a Dehydrator. Dehydrated Pepper Bread becomes a nonperishable dried food that does not rot, but it must be rehydrated with a Rehydrator before it can be eaten. This makes it useful for long-term storage and transport, especially when food preservation matters more than immediate convenience.
Practical notes:
- The recipe accepts either Sleet Wheat Grain or Megafrond Grain as the grain ingredient.
- Since it uses a Pincha Peppernut, Pepper Bread depends on access to pepper-producing crops.
- Dehydration removes spoilage concerns, so it is a good choice for surplus food stockpiles.
- Rehydrated food trades storage safety for an extra processing step, so it is best used where supply chains are already established.
