Giant Power Leech

Overview
The Giant Power Leech is a rare hostile creature that appears as part of the Rolling Blackout event. It patrols around a central location and periodically releases bursts of lightning that deal minor damage to nearby entities. At the start of the event, a facility announcement identifies the area where it has spawned, and as long as the Giant Power Leech remains active, smaller Power Leeches will also appear and attach themselves to power sockets and batteries.
Ending the event early requires hunting the Giant Power Leech down and destroying it. It cannot be attacked directly at first, because it must be uncovered by killing enough of the smaller Power Leeches around it. Once revealed, the larger creature can be shot until it disappears, which immediately ends the event. The Crystalline Vial does not work on these entities.
The Giant Power Leech has different drops depending on world progression flags. Its default loot includes a Circuit Board and a 50% chance of Powdered Crystal. After entering Cascade Laboratories, it can also drop a Capacitor. After opening Gate 2 in the Security Sector, its drop table expands further to include an Electrical Organ.
- Default drops: Circuit Board, Powdered Crystal
- After entering Cascade Laboratories: Circuit Board, Powdered Crystal, Capacitor
- After opening Gate 2 in the Security Sector: Circuit Board, Powdered Crystal, Capacitor, Electrical Organ
Its compendium entry links it to the same parasite theorized to affect IS-0139, and it states that the creature originates from Anteverse 23. However, Anteverse 23 is described elsewhere as an alternate future of Earth rather than an anomalous realm, so the entry is notable for its unusual origin note.
