Power Leech

Power Leech is a hostile creature that attaches itself to power outlets and batteries and drains their electricity. It is encountered across multiple areas of the game, often in places with exposed equipment, storage rooms, vehicles, or other electrically powered fixtures. A Portal Suppression Field automatically kills Power Leeches, and destroying the corresponding Giant Power Leech stops new ones from spawning.

In the GATE Compendium, Power Leech is cataloged as IS-0211, with the designation Solutus. The entry describes it as a denizen of Anteverse 23 and notes that it can unmoor itself from physical space, making it even more elusive than IS-0139. The compendium also links it to a possibly shared parasitic infection with IS-0139, which is presented as one possible explanation for their similar crystalline morphology and behavioral traits.

Power Leeches can be found in a wide range of locations, including:

• Flathill, where they are plugged into three equipment boxes found throughout the area
• Office Sector, in an area near the Data Farm that requires a Keypad Hacker (Tier 2)
• Manufacturing West, including a suspended container above the Foundry, the Mapping Center near scientist corpses, a cave below Shipping, and several spots in Shipping itself
• Hydroplant, such as the back of a broken SUV on the bridge near Defense Robots and inside a building guarded by a Defense Robot
• Reactors, including the back of a truck in a camp near the Gale Reactor and several underwater or low-lying areas around the reactor complex
• Residence Sector, where two are found behind a crate on the path leading outside and three are found in the Divarcation in Fragments
• Cascade Laboratories, both in Cold Storage and in the Containment - Control Center
• Village Den da'ko Yeer, in the pool of water with the dead scientist and the Neutrino Mapper
• radioactive waste fishing, where they can rarely be obtained by fishing

Their drops depend on world flags. By default, a Power Leech drops a Circuit Board and has a chance to drop Powdered Crystal. After entering Cascade Laboratories, its drop table gains a chance for a Capacitor as well. After opening Gate 2 in the Security Sector, it can also drop an Electrical Organ.

Power Leechs are also tied to progression through a world-specific spawning source: the destruction of the corresponding Giant Power Leech causes them to stop appearing. This makes the larger source creature a practical target if the area is being cleared. Marion can trade for a Power Cell, though that trade is separate from the creature itself.
