Overview

Mechanical Part is a furniture item used for mechanisms that can be activated, or can activate other mechanisms, through electricity. It serves as part of Core Keeper’s wiring and device systems, letting players build contraptions that respond to power signals and control other connected objects.

Within electricity setup, different items can emit signals of varying strength, including 25, 13, and 1, while some also produce power only under specific conditions such as being switched on or having a player stand on them. On the receiving side, circuitry components can carry electricity directly, pass it along only when they receive electricity on 2 out of 3 inputs, or store incoming power and release it in 1-second intervals. This makes Mechanical Part useful for building delayed triggers, chained activations, and simple power routing.

It also connects to several powered devices:

  • Some doors open when powered and cannot be opened or closed manually.
  • Some devices detonate when powered.
  • Some lights turn on when powered.
  • Some devices will continuously spawn enemy clones if they are powered and a valid figurine is placed inside.

Because these devices respond directly to electricity, Mechanical Part is most useful when placed as part of a larger powered system rather than as a standalone object. Its main value is in enabling automation, timed activation, and interaction between multiple mechanisms in a base or trap setup.
