Bush Lime Tree

Overview
Bush lime trees are fruit trees found naturally in the Bushlands biome, the yellow region that usually appears on the east side of the map. Each tree produces 3 bush limes per harvest, and ripe fruit can be collected by hand or with the Har-Vac. Like all trees and plants in Dinkum, they can be planted in any biome or soil type once a fruit is used to grow a new tree.
A bush lime tree takes 12 days to mature and then produces fruit every 6 days after that. The Plant Book can be used on the tree to check its growth stage and fruit reproduction cycle. If a mature tree is cut down with an axe or chainsaw, it does not drop wood; only the fruit drops if it was ripe at the time.
Bush lime trees can be moved or replanted using Tree Pinchers. New trees can also be grown from fruit by burying the bush lime with a valid planting method. A small tree appears when the fruit is placed correctly.
- Dig a hole with the shovel, drop the fruit into it, and cover it again with dirt from the shovel.
- Drop the fruit on the ground, remove the soil from underneath it with the shovel, then replace the soil on top.
- Drop the fruit on the ground and place a dirt printer over it.
For orchard layouts, many players keep small fruit farms at around 10–20 trees. A 2-wide row layout with a 1-tile walkway between rows is useful if you want to mix in different ground types such as grass, fir, tropical grass, dirt, or mud, since the soil under fruit trees can affect what mushrooms grow beneath them in Autumn. Another efficient setup is to plant trees on every tile in a row, which lets dropped fruit land outside the last tree in the line, making collection easier when running around the edge or using the Har-Vac.
