Animal Collection Point

The Animal Collection Point is a craftable utility item used to send trapped animals to the animal research centre. It becomes available at the Crafting Table after obtaining Trapping Licence Level 1 from Fletch. Once placed, it serves as the drop-off point for animals caught in a Simple Animal Trap or Animal Trap.

To use it, carry a trapped animal to the collection point and drop the trap onto it with the right mouse button; on controller, use the appropriate drop action. If placed correctly, a balloon appears and the trap floats away. The next day, a letter arrives in the mailbox with a reward and the returned trap. If the placement is incorrect, pick the trapped animal back up and try again.

A few practical notes:

• The Animal Collection Point can be reused indefinitely.
• It cannot be picked up and moved as a single item.
• If you want to remove it, destroy it with an axe or chainsaw to recover some materials; not all materials are returned.
• It does not function in Mine Deed levels.
• Trapping any animal has a small chance to award a Pink Hang Glider in the mail the following day.
• The capture reward is based on a multiplier applied to a random amount.
• Rare rewards can vary by animal, while some captures may also grant a Random Relic as a guaranteed reward for specific creatures.

The Animal Collection Point is the standard way to turn trapped wildlife into research rewards, making it an important part of the trapping loop once the licence is unlocked. It is especially useful for players who regularly trap animals for profit, collection, or completion, since it turns each successful capture into a next-day payout instead of simply releasing the creature.
