Mine Deed

A deed for an underground mine. A great place to easily find ores.
Overview
The Mine is a town building unlocked through Fletch after discussing the town and obtaining the Mine Deed. When placed, it puts the town into debt and can be positioned anywhere on a flat 3×3 area. Like other town buildings, it can later be moved by speaking to Fletch about the town again.
Once built, the Mine serves as the entry point to the Deep Mine system. Accessing it requires the proper mining-related progression, starting with Mining Licence Level 1, then Mining Licence Level 2, and finally Deep Mining Licence Level 1. To descend, the player must also have the Mine pass purchased from John’s Goods. The elevator console inside the Mine is used to go down, and additional mine levels require gem shards in the input beside the console.
The Deep Mine has several separate lower areas. Four ruby shards are used to access the Undergrove, while four emerald shards are used to access Hot Hot Hot. The mine elevator contains posters that warn the player about key mechanics: radiation at late night, the need for a light source, and the requirement for keys to open treasure rooms.
A few important mechanics affect travel and survival in the Mine:
- At 11 pm, the mines begin to rumble, signaling that night is getting late.
- At 12 am, or Late, the mine rumbles again and starts emitting radiation across the entire map, dealing 1 damage every 2 seconds to the player.
- The radiation does not harm animals.
- The effect is similar to a Glowing Croco’s area radiation attack.
- The Deep Mine resets every day, so anything left below is lost the following morning.
- The player cannot sleep in the Deep Mine.
Items cannot be placed inside the elevator as storage, but dropped items remain there while the elevator moves. This makes it possible to leave things such as rubies, fossils, or trapped animals on the floor of the elevator and bring them back up. The Stone Wand can also be used in all mine levels to place rocks and block Treasure Room entrances, which helps keep enemies out.
NPC companions can join the player in the Deep Mine or the Undergrove on their day off or after work, as long as the player has more than two hearts with them. They will not accompany the player into Hot Hot Hot because of the heat.
