Glowing Croco

Overview
The Glowing Croco is a wild animal in Dinkum. It is an aggressive predator and will attack on sight rather than leaving the player alone. Its attacks include a bite, a tail slash, and a cloud of spores, and most of these attacks are telegraphed in advance. The spore cloud lingers for a period of time, so staying in its area after an attack is still dangerous.
Glowing Crocos are mainly a threat to players and other smaller targets, but they are themselves only threatened by stronger predators such as the Bush Devil. Like other Crocos and Bush Devils, they become aggressive if the player is wearing the Bush Devil Hood, even on Peaceful Wish, so that item can turn otherwise safe travel into a fight.
When defeated, a Glowing Croco drops Croco Meat and a Crocodile Tooth, with Bone dropping rarely. These drops make it a worthwhile hunting target if you can handle its damage and area pressure. For combat, spears are generally the most versatile weapon choice for hunting, but a Flaming Bat can be more effective against this animal because it also provides a light source. That extra visibility helps during fights, especially when dealing with the lingering spores and keeping track of its telegraphed attacks.
- Watch for the wind-up before its bite, tail slash, and spore attack, since the moves are usually signaled ahead of time.
- Do not linger near the spore cloud after it is released, as it remains dangerous for a while.
- If you are wearing the Bush Devil Hood, expect Glowing Crocos to become hostile immediately.
- A Flaming Bat is a strong option for night or low-visibility hunting because it combines offense with light.
- To send one off, it must be brought back up onto the island first.
