Overview

The Jackaroo is a wild animal in Dinkum. It is one of the common roo-like creatures found roaming the world and appears in light brown and red varieties. During December, a white variety also appears, and this version is invincible.

Jackaroos are passive by default, so they will not attack unless provoked. If struck, they fight back with a kick. They are also hunted by predators such as Diggos and Crocos, so they can be seen as prey in the wider ecosystem as well as a source of materials for the player.

When killed, a Jackaroo drops Raw Meat and Bone. They also produce 1 roo poo per day, which makes them useful for small-scale farming setups. Players can capture Jackaroos and keep them in a fenced area to collect roo poo and turn it into Fertiliser.

  • Because Jackaroos retaliate with kicks, attacking them up close can be risky if you are not prepared to finish the fight quickly.
  • The various spear forms are among the most versatile weapons for hunting them, especially if you want to keep some distance while still landing reliable hits.
  • If your goal is Fertilizer production rather than meat, enclosing captured Jackaroos in a pen is the most practical way to make steady use of their daily roo poo.
  • The December white variant cannot be treated like normal Jackaroos, since it is invincible.
