Chook

The Chook is a farm animal that can be raised for eggs and bred to produce more chicks. A Baby Chook becomes available for purchase after obtaining Handling Licence Level 1, which is unlocked after Farming Licence Level 1. It can be bought from Irwin when he is at the Visitors Site or in Irwin’s Barn. Baby Chooks take 3 days to grow into adults, and they can appear in several colors, including white and brown, white, brown, black, and yellow.

Once fully grown, a Chook sleeps in a Bird Coop and eats Animal Food. It produces Chicken Eggs every day, and after its hearts reach a certain level, it produces Big Chicken Eggs instead. Adult Chooks can also be bred with domesticated Roosters to hatch baby Chooks.

To keep a Chook happy and productive, it needs three things:

• Food: it must eat Animal Food once per day from an Animal Feeder.
• Shelter: each Bird Coop provides shelter for one Chook, and Chooks do not benefit from other animal shelters.
• Attention: petting the Chook each day increases its hearts; the Guitar can also satisfy this need.

If a Chook is not fed, it does not die, but it becomes unhappy and stops producing. For products and breeding, the animal must not be sick, must have a home, and must have been fed the day before. Keeping all three care needs satisfied raises hearts faster and improves the quality of its products.
