Visitors Site

Overview
The Visitors Site is a place where visitors can stay while they are on the island for the day. It is obtained as the Visiting Site Deed from Fletch after the player places their Tent. No materials are required to build it, and once placed it becomes a building that can later be moved.
John is the first visitor to use the Visitors Site, and he will come every day until John’s Goods is built. While John is staying there, his shop hours are every day from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. After John has moved in, the Visitors Site begins hosting other random visitors. Before then, an NPC would visit every second day; afterward, there is a chance of a visitor arriving on the next day instead. These visitors continue to appear in their tents until their own store buildings are fully built, even after they have agreed to move to the island and the player has already received the deed from Fletch.
The island host is responsible for building relationships with visiting NPCs so they will agree to live on the island. In multiplayer, guests can also increase relationships with each NPC, but those gains do not count toward the host’s island progression. Most NPCs require different heart levels before they will stay permanently, though Theodore from the Museum Deed agrees to move in as soon as the player speaks to him, and Milburn from the Bank Deed will not visit before Fletch offers the deed.
Some visitors have prerequisites before they will appear. Meeting more requirements adds them to the random visitor pool, but also makes any one specific visitor less likely to show up for a while. It is usually best to get Franklyn moved in early, since his inventions are especially useful.
- Franklyn from Franklyn’s Lab has no prerequisites.
- Melvin from Furniture Shop Deed requires the Tent to be upgraded to a House Move Deed.
- The House upgrade is also required to unlock the four Guest House deeds that can be rented to non-shop owners.
- The House upgrade is one of the requirements for the Night Merchant Event to appear at the Visitors Site on the 19th of each season from Year 2 onward, alongside John’s Goods and the Museum being built.
- Clover from Clothing Shop Deed has no prerequisites.
- Irwin from Irwin’s Barn requires the Handling Licence.
- Rayne from Rayne’s Greenhouse requires the Farming Licence.
- Sally from Sally’s Salon begins visiting once there are 5 permanent residents on the island.
- Sheila from the Tuckshop Deed begins visiting once there are 5 permanent residents on the island.
The Visitors Site also hosts special event visitors shown on the Bulletin Board calendar. These visitors do not move onto the island; instead, they arrive to run seasonal events.
- Max appears after the Museum is built and hosts the Fish Catching Comp on 22 Summer and 22 Winter.
- Julia appears after the Museum is built and hosts the Bug Catching Comp on 15 Autumn and 15 Spring.
- The Night Merchant appears for the Night Merchant Event on the 19th of every month at Late, from Year 2 onward.
It is advisable not to move the Visitors Site, or the Band Stand, on the day before an event, since the event may fail to occur.
