House Move Deed

Decide where your house will be moved to
Overview
The House is the player’s home, upgraded from the Tent after speaking to Fletch about house upgrades once the Nails and Wooden Crate recipes have been obtained. It is the central personal building in town and can be upgraded again immediately for a larger interior. Upgrade fees must be paid in full right away and are not added to Town Debt.
The house starts as a 5x5 exterior, and later upgrades only expand the interior space. The exterior size does not change, even as the inside becomes larger. The available upgrades increase the internal size to 6x6, 8x8, and 10x10. During each upgrade, a construction materials box appears outside the house and the required materials are placed there, similar to NPC building projects. The upgrade completes overnight.
The interior can hold furniture, clothing, crafting stations, and storage boxes, but not large objects such as the Windmill or Water Tank. Because the house can be customized and rearranged, it is a flexible base for storage and crafting, though items placed outside do not affect anything inside. For example, a Windmill placed outside will not speed up machines placed indoors.
The house can also be moved by talking to Fletch about the player’s house. Fletch warns that objects inside may not remain in the same positions after the move, so it is best to remove everything first, especially if the house is being rotated. Items can otherwise become trapped outside the walls or even seem to disappear into the void, making entry difficult. It is also advisable to sleep somewhere else while the house is under construction.
Both the exterior and interior can be customized. The exterior look is changed by standing near the door and using a House Customisation Kit bought from John’s Goods. The interior can be redecorated with Wallpapers and Floors purchased at Furniture Shop Deed. Wooden Signs can be placed inside, but items cannot be imprinted onto them.
- The house’s mailbox receives mail from NPCs once relationship levels are high enough.
- Purchased traps, tools, clothes, and furniture are delivered there the next day.
- Multiple purchases of the same item produce multiple letters, with one item per letter.
- Letters from the Bug Tipster or Fishin’ Tipster may also arrive with location and time information for undiscovered critters or fish.
