Water Tank

The Water Tank is a craftable utility item that becomes available at the Crafting Table after obtaining Irrigation Licence Level 1 from Fletch. It is used as a water source for farming setups, especially when paired with Advanced Sprinklers, and is one of the core pieces for building a large automated crop field.

Placed correctly, a Water Tank provides water in a 22×22 area with the tank at the center. In practice, one tank can supply enough coverage for 24 Advanced Sprinklers, which is enough to support a 25×25 crop field. Because of this, it is commonly used as the central water source in organized farm layouts rather than as a general-purpose decorative object.

The tank can function at any height, so it does not need to sit on the same level as the crops it serves. For easier tractor movement, it is recommended to place it 6 blocks below the farming area so it does not get in the way while driving over the field. This makes it a good choice for underground or lowered irrigation setups where the visible farm space stays clear.

A Tape Measure can be used on range-based objects to show their effective area, and the Water Tank is one of the objects compatible with this tool. That makes it easier to plan sprinkler placement and confirm that the field is fully covered before planting. A visual layout reference is especially useful when combining the tank with Advanced Sprinklers.

Used watering cans can also be refilled from the Water Tank, along with other water sources such as the ocean, river, Brick Fountain, Brick Well, Garden Tap, and Waterbed. This makes the Water Tank useful even outside of sprinkler automation, since it can serve as a reliable refill point near a work area or farm.
