Auto Placer

The Auto Placer is a machine introduced through Franklyn’s Lab in the Animal Tracks Update. It is unlocked by delivering 10 Berkonium Ore to Franklyn to access berkonium-related recipes and donating 1 Shiny Disc to him; after that, the Auto Placer is mailed to the player the next morning. It is designed to automate processing by feeding stackable items into connected machines.

An Auto Placer can be wired to up to three processors through its three output pipes. Place up to three compatible machines beside those pipes, then add stackable items to the attached chest and it will begin processing them automatically. Items are handled in the order they are placed into the box, so the queue matters when multiple materials or machine types are connected.

• If the same machine type is connected to all three pipes, the Auto Placer sends the first stack to all three machines before moving on to the next stack.
• If different machines are connected, items are assigned in sequence to each machine as they become available; for example, ore can go to a furnace, raw meat to a BBQ, and then another stack to a cooking kettle.
• The machine keeps working while the player is away, but it stops during visits to the Mines or Island Reef and while the player sleeps, then resumes the next morning.
• A Hand Trolley can be used to move an Auto Placer even when it still contains items.
