Jimmy's Boat

Jimmy’s Boat is the traveling shopboat used by Jimmy, a special visiting NPC who appears only under specific weather conditions. He can arrive only when it is raining in the morning, and he remains for the rest of the day even if the rain stops later. When he appears, he is found only on water and is marked on the map with an orange question mark icon.

Jimmy will visit only if the island owner has at least a required amount deposited in their bank account. His shop closes when the player sleeps, so any purchases must be made before ending the day. Like John, Jimmy uses a trading system based on buying and selling items, but his prices are different: he pays 1.5 times more than John for stacks containing 50 or more items, and items do not need to be stacked in exact multiples of 50. His pricing is based on 10 times the item’s cost, and items sold by NPCs are doubled in value.

Jimmy’s Boat sells a rotating stock of rare and useful goods. Most items in stock can only be purchased once per visit, and some items are always available while others change randomly between visits. Its stock can include:

• all types of cassettes for the Boom Box and Festive Boom Box

Because his inventory rotates, Jimmy’s Boat is one of the best places to check for late-game tools, cosmetic items, and music cassettes that are not reliably available elsewhere. If you want to make the most of his visit, keep enough money on hand, watch the weather in the morning, and check the water routes early so you do not miss him before sleeping.
