The Plains is a biome in Dinkum characterized by open, flat terrain. It is one of the main natural regions on the island and commonly appears along the western edge of the map, though smaller patches can also be found elsewhere. Plains often extend out from Bushlands, but they are not limited to that biome and can appear independently.

This biome is notable for its mix of plants, wildlife, and insect life. Bottle Trees and Grass Trees grow here, and Quandongs can be found in the area as well. Plains also support a wide range of creatures, making it a useful place for both hunting and collection.

• Animals found in the Plains include Mu, Diggo, Magpie, and Cockatoo.
• Common insect spawns in the Plains include Bee, Cicada, Cricket, Emperor DragonFly, Grasshopper, Lacewing, Ladybird, Meadow Katydid, Paper Wasp, Pygmyfly, Queen Bee, Tau Emerald Dragonfly, and Tiger Moth.
• Several species that appear in the Plains also spawn in other biomes, including Bushlands, Desert, Pine Forest, Tropics, and elsewhere, so the Plains is part of a broader early- to mid-game exploration route rather than a fully isolated region.
• Plants and resources associated with the biome include Bottle Tree, Grass Tree, Quandong Tree, Grass, Bottle Tree Seed, Bottle Tree Wood, Grass Seed, and Quandong.

The Plains is also a good area to watch for seasonal and time-based spawns. Some insects appear only during certain times of day or seasons, such as day-active spring species and night-active autumn or winter species. Because of this, revisiting the same area at different times can yield very different results.
