Advanced Sling Shot

The Advanced Sling Shot is a ranged weapon used for hunting. It is a stronger upgrade to the Slingshot, with higher shot power and faster charge speed, making it a better choice for dealing damage from a distance. It uses Iron Ore as ammunition, so it is most useful when you have a steady supply of ore to spare for combat.

Advanced Sling Shots can be found in chests in the Undergrove and Island Reef, and it also appears as a random rotating stock item on Jimmy’s Boat. Since it is not a basic early-game weapon, it is usually obtained as a more advanced option once you begin exploring dangerous areas and have access to better materials and locations.

To use it, hold left-click on mouse or hold A on an Xbox controller to aim, then release to fire. Like other sling shot-style weapons, it rewards timing and spacing, especially against fast-moving targets. Because it charges faster than the Slingshot, it is easier to use in active combat and for hunting creatures that do not stay still for long.

A few practical notes:

• It consumes Iron Ore as ammunition, so carrying extra ore is important if you plan to fight for a long time.
• Its improved charge speed makes it more responsive than the Slingshot in close or mid-range encounters.
• It is intended for hunting and ranged combat rather than general utility.
• Since the Night Market update, projectiles fired by players no longer damage other players or farm animals, so it cannot be used for friendly fire.
