Overview

The Bin Chook is a wild animal in Dinkum. It is a passive creature by default and usually roams without attacking players, but it becomes flighty when startled. Because it can fly, it can escape over fences when scared, making it harder to contain than grounded wildlife.

Bin Chooks do not eat crops, so they are not a threat to farms in the way some other animals can be. They are also not typically threatened themselves because of their mobility and evasive behavior. While they are generally harmless, their tendency to take off quickly means they are best approached carefully if you want to hunt them.

Bin Chooks drop useful materials when defeated, including Feathers, Bone, and Raw Drumstick. They can also drop feathers periodically while flying around, so even chasing them without immediately catching them can still be worthwhile. Hunting them can also yield a random relic, which is sent to the mailbox the next day.

For hunting, a Torch or Bat Zapper is useful at night to stun the animal before switching to a weapon. A Slingshot or Advanced Sling Shot is also a strong option, especially if you want to keep some distance while the Bin Chook is moving or flying away. Since they are quick to flee, landing hits efficiently matters more than trying to box them in.
