Overview

The Oyster is a wild animal in Dinkum that can be found in the oceans anywhere on the map. Unlike most wildlife, it does not move or display any active behavior, remaining a static creature in place.

Its main value is production: Oysters generate pearls. After being harvested, an Oyster will produce another pearl after 10 days, making them a renewable source of this valuable item as long as the Oyster remains intact. If an Oyster is destroyed, it is permanently removed and will not respawn, so it is best treated as a long-term resource rather than something to break for a quick gain.

  • Found in ocean biomes across the map.
  • Static and does not have behavioral traits.
  • Produces pearls.
  • Harvesting starts a 10-day production cycle for the next pearl.
  • Destroying it permanently removes the Oyster and prevents it from respawning.

Because of this, it is usually worth preserving any Oyster you find. Keeping them in place allows you to return later for more pearls, while destroying them eliminates a renewable source entirely.
