Lily Pad

Lily Pad is a placeable plant item found growing in water in the Undergrove and in Billabongs. It can be collected underwater in the Undergrove while wearing a Helmet and using a weapon or tool, or by digging out the tile beneath it with a Shovel. When using a Shovel in the Undergrove, the dirt cannot be emptied until you leave the area, so each shovel effectively serves as a single-use tool for that visit.

Lily Pads gathered from Billabongs do not respawn, making them a limited resource there. Once obtained, they can be used to reproduce more lily pads by placing two or more empty Flower Beds or Flower Pots next to each other and planting a lily pad in one of them. Over time, the plant will spread into empty neighboring beds or pots, allowing players to expand their supply without returning to the Undergrove.

A few practical notes make them easier to manage:

• In the Undergrove, the safest way to collect them is to use the Helmet and a tool or weapon while moving carefully through the water.
• If you dig them up with a Shovel, plan to finish your collection run before relying on that shovel for anything else, since the dirt cannot be emptied until you leave.
• Because Billabong lily pads do not respawn, it is worth taking extras whenever possible if you want to start a self-sustaining farm.
• Place Flower Beds or Flower Pots in groups with empty spaces beside them, since lily pads only spread into adjacent empty containers over time.

Lily Pads are most useful as a renewable decorative plant once you have established a small starting stock. Their ability to spread in neighboring containers makes them convenient for gradual propagation, especially if you want a steady source without repeatedly harvesting the same location.
