Electric furnace

The Electric furnace is an electric-powered smelting building used to convert ores and other smeltable items into plates and bricks. It performs the same smelting recipes and produces output at the same rates as the Steel furnace, but it does not consume coal as fuel; instead it draws electrical energy from the factory power network.

Output rates for a single Electric furnace match the Steel furnace: Iron plate, Copper plate, and Stone brick each output at 0.625 per second. Lithium plate is produced at 0.3125 per second, and Steel plate is produced at 0.125 per second. These rates make the Electric furnace twice as productive as the Stone furnace for the same recipes, because the Stone furnace outputs 0.3125 per second for Iron and Copper plates and 0.15625 per second for Lithium plate.

• The Electric furnace requires a connection to the electrical grid to operate; it does not consume solid fuel like coal.
• A single Electric furnace produces Iron plate and Copper plate at 0.625/s, Lithium plate at 0.3125/s, and Steel plate at 0.125/s.
• Compared with a Stone furnace, the Electric furnace doubles output rates for common plate recipes.
• The Electric furnace is functionally equivalent in output speed to the Steel furnace while changing energy source and logistics.
