Overview

Rocket part is an item used as a core component for constructing a Rocket in the Rocket silo. A single Rocket requires 100 Rocket parts; each Rocket part is manufactured from three intermediate materials, which themselves require many lower-tier resources. Calculating every ingredient down to raw ores and fluids gives a comprehensive view of the total resource cost for one Rocket (not including the Satellite needed to obtain the Space science pack).

For producing 100 Rocket parts (assumes Advanced oil processing and use of Research/Disassembly where applicable), the raw material requirements are:

The intermediate component totals for those 100 Rocket parts include, among others:

To obtain a Space science pack the player must also launch a Satellite, which has its own full material cost. The Satellite raw material totals are:

  • Coal: 450
  • Water: 66,074 units
  • Crude oil: 31,204 units
  • Copper ore: 9,288
  • Iron ore: 8,435

The Satellite’s intermediate parts include notable items such as:

  • 5 Radar
  • 25 Iron gear wheel
  • 50 Rocket Fuel
  • 100 Accumulators
  • 100 Low density structure
  • 100 Processing unit
  • 100 Solar panel
  • 200 Advanced Circuit
  • 500 Battery
  • 700 Steel plate
  • 900 Plastic bar
  • 3,925 Electronic circuit
  • 12,575 Copper cable
  • 16,382 Light oil
  • 24,750 Petroleum gas

Combining the Rocket (100 Rocket parts) and the Satellite, the total resource cost to launch once and obtain a Space science pack is:

  • Coal: 9,950
  • Crude oil: 324,722 units
  • Copper ore: 101,788
  • Iron ore: 57,535
  • Water: 306,444 units

Practical notes:

  • The listed totals assume advanced oil processing and that byproducts are processed appropriately; different refinery settings or lack of cracking will change oil/fuel figures.
  • Productivity module 3 inserted into assemblers, chemical plants, refineries and furnaces changes the totals significantly; one documented setup with Productivity module 3 filled across those machines reduces raw material requirements (example totals: Coal 2,999; Crude oil 78,942; Copper ore 24,619; Iron ore 16,986 for the productivity-boosted production route).
  • Planning Rocket production at scale requires large, steady supplies of petroleum products and plastic; set up oil refining and cracking chains and buffer tanks for Light oil, Heavy oil and Petroleum gas.
  • Satellite components such as Accumulators, Solar panels and Batteries also impose significant production demand; consider parallel production lines for power-related items to avoid bottlenecks.
