Large Cargo Bay

Overview

The Large Cargo Bay is a space mission storage building that holds more than a regular Cargo Bay. It is used to increase the amount of cargo a rocket can carry for space missions, making it a straightforward upgrade when a normal Cargo Bay is not enough.

When built with 1000 kg of steel, the Large Cargo Bay has a mass of 2000 kg of that metal. This makes it significantly heavier than the material used to construct it, which can matter when planning rocket payload and overall vehicle mass. Its in-game description is also closely based on the base-game Cargo Bay description, changing the wording from storing some of the material to storing most of the material, while still referring to space missions rather than the Planetoid-to-Planetoid travel used in Spaced Out.

  • It is a direct capacity upgrade over the regular Cargo Bay.
  • Building it with steel doubles the amount of steel invested in its mass.
  • Its description reflects older cargo-bay wording, even though the building is used in the current space-mission system.
