Large Solid Oxidizer Tank

Overview

The Large Solid Oxidizer Tank is a rocket module used to store solid oxidizer for use in space. It is part of the solid-fuel rocket system and exists to support efficient combustion in the vacuum of space, where rockets need both fuel and oxidizer to operate. By carrying oxidizer onboard, a rocket can burn its fuel without relying on an external atmosphere.

This building is specifically for solid oxidizer storage, not for Solid Oxygen. Solid Oxygen cannot be loaded into the Large Solid Oxidizer Tank, so it should not be confused with other oxygen-related cargo or life-support materials. In practice, the tank is paired with rocket fuel systems to keep a rocket supplied during space travel.

  • Use it when building rockets that rely on solid oxidizer rather than liquid or gaseous alternatives.
  • It is meant to support efficient fuel burning in space, where the absence of air would otherwise prevent combustion.
  • Do not try to fill it with Solid Oxygen; it will not accept that resource.
  • Plan rocket cargo carefully, since oxidizer storage is a separate requirement from fuel storage.
