Resin

Overview
Resin is an element produced by Experiment 52B when it is fed calories and kept in an environment below 20°C. The tree’s tappings expel Liquid Resin, which then solidifies into Resin if it cools enough. In practice, keeping Experiment 52B warm enough is important for steady output, since liquid resin will otherwise harden and can accumulate beneath the plant.
Resin has limited direct use on its own because it melts at a relatively low temperature, but it is a useful industrial input. It can be processed into Plastic as a monomer in the Polymer Press, and it can also be combined with Plant Shell to produce Plywood.
- Experiment 52B should be kept above 17°C to prevent Liquid Resin from failing to secrete properly and solidifying into chunks under the plant.
- If the tree is too cold, Resin will form as Solid Resin and may bury the lower middle tile beneath Experiment 52B.
- Resin is mainly valuable as a raw material rather than as a stable building medium.
