Overview

The Nectar Biome is a cold biome similar to the Ice Cave Biome. It is notable for containing Bonbon Trees and Spigot Seals, and it is the only biome that contains Solid Mercury, a refined metal with an extremely low melting point.

Bonbon Trees are a major resource here because they provide both Nectar and Resin. The Resin can then be processed into Plastic using a Polymer Press, letting colonies obtain plastic without needing to route materials through a hot Oily Biome first. Spigot Seals can consume Nectar directly from the tree to produce their own outputs, making the biome useful not only for harvesting but also for supporting the native creature’s needs.

Solid Mercury has a special construction use. It can be used to build Rocket Modules and the Rocket Platform because these buildings do not exchange heat with their environment. This makes Solid Mercury one of the biome’s most distinctive resources, since its very low melting point would normally make it impractical in warmer areas, but it remains useful for specific space-related builds.

In practice, the Nectar Biome is worth visiting for three reasons: Nectar from Bonbon Trees, Resin for plastic production, and Solid Mercury for specialized rocket construction. Its cold environment also means it functions as a source of materials that would be difficult or inconvenient to gather in hotter biomes.
