Overview

Sap is a liquid byproduct produced inside Test Subject 52B. Once more than 5 kg of Sap has accumulated inside the creature, it drips from the ducts on both sides. This makes Sap a harvestable resource that can be collected directly when the creature is producing it.

Sap production depends on temperature. Test Subject 52B must be kept above 17°C for Sap to secrete normally. If its temperature falls below that point, the Sap does not continue to flow as a liquid and instead solidifies into Solid Sap. When this happens, the material clumps in the center tile beneath the creature and can bury it.

  • Keep the creature warm enough if you want liquid Sap production.
  • If the temperature drops too low, expect Solid Sap buildup instead of usable dripping Sap.
  • Because the solidified material forms under the creature, temperature control is important to avoid obstructing or burying it.
