Overview

Dink is the main currency in Dinkum. It is used alongside Permit Points, which serve as another form of progression currency. Dinks are the standard money used throughout the game for buying, selling, and unlocking several services and rewards.

Dinks can be earned in a few common ways: by selling items, completing Bulletin Board Tasks, completing job requests, or receiving them as gifts in the mail from NPCs. Once obtained, they can be spent on purchases from NPCs through job requests, buying goods at shops, placing them into the Gacha Machine for rewards, and obtaining Deeds.

Dinks can also be handled as an inventory item. To move Dinks into the inventory, click the Dinks display at the top to extract them as an item, place that item in a toolbelt slot, and then use the Dinks. This makes them easier to carry and store when needed.

A few practical points make Dinks worth managing carefully:

  • Store Dinks in a chest or other storage before fighting an alpha or going into the mines.
  • If a single player passes out, 20% of the Dinks currently on hand are lost.
  • In multiplayer, if a player is revived after passing out, no Dinks are lost.

Because of that penalty, it is often safer to keep most of your money stored rather than carrying large amounts while exploring dangerous areas. Dinks are easy to earn through normal play, but losing a portion after a setback can still be costly early on.
