Overview

Shells are a foraging item in Dinkum. They are gathered as part of the Foraging skill alongside fruit, flowers, and logs, and collecting them contributes to increasing that skill.

Because Shells are tied to Foraging, they are useful for players who want to raise Foraging levels naturally while exploring and gathering resources. As Foraging levels rise, new logging licences become available, unlocking better axes at level 10 and level 20. In other words, picking up Shells is one of the small but steady ways to progress toward improved woodcutting tools.

  • Shells count toward Foraging skill gains.
  • Foraging also increases from collecting fruit, flowers, and logs.
  • Higher Foraging levels unlock better logging licences, which lead to upgraded axes.
  • Shells are part of the general island-gathering loop rather than a combat or tool-based activity.

The item is straightforward to use in routine play: collect it whenever you encounter it, especially if you are actively training Foraging. Since Foraging is raised simply by gathering natural resources, Shells fit naturally into the same playstyle as harvesting plants and cutting trees.
