Plant Fuel

Overview
Plant Fuel is an early-game fuel item obtained by cutting down trees and bushes. It is one of the first energy sources available to
Icarus, and it can be carried in large amounts because a stack holds 500 units. Despite its convenience, it has relatively low energy density and burns 30% slower than more advanced fuels, so it is mainly useful as temporary fuel stock rather than a long-term power source.
In practical use, Plant Fuel helps bridge the gap before automation is established. It is easy to gather while clearing land for construction, but manual collection does not scale well. For that reason, players typically replace it quickly with more efficient fuels once better production lines are available.
- Plant Fuel is gathered by cutting trees and bushes.
- It is best treated as an early emergency or travel fuel, not a permanent solution.
- Its large stack size makes it easy to store and transport in bulk.
- Although Plant Fuel can be used with Logs and
Water to make Organic Crystals, this is usually avoided because those ingredients must be collected manually.
- Organic Crystals are more commonly produced through the automated recipe using
Plastic,
Refined Oil, and Water.
- Since Organic Crystals are needed for Structure Matrixes, switching to an automated production chain is an important step in progression.
A common early-game transition is to move from Plant Fuel to
