Overview

Stone brick is a basic crafting material produced by processing stone in a smelter. It is an early-game resource used mainly as a construction ingredient for buildings unlocked near the beginning of progression. In earlier versions of the game, the item was called Stone before being renamed to Stone brick.

Unlike many high-demand consumables such as Science Matrix or Small Carrier Rocket, Stone brick is not a constant sink for most production chains. Its demand depends heavily on how much the player uses foundation and other stone-heavy structures. For players who do not lay down much foundation, a full-scale Stone brick production line offers limited benefit. In that case, a small automated line connected to a storage container is usually enough to keep a modest reserve on hand for construction.

If large-scale terrain covering is part of the plan, however, demand rises sharply. A single Planet fully covered in foundation requires a very large amount of Stone brick, so preparing a much larger smelting capacity becomes worthwhile. In practical terms, Stone brick is one of those materials that can be ignored in small quantities, but becomes a major logistical concern once planetary-scale building begins.

  • Best used as a stockpiled construction material rather than a continuously consumed mass-production input in most normal play.
  • A small smelting line feeding storage is sufficient for routine building needs.
  • Large foundation projects can consume Stone brick in enormous quantities, so expanding production ahead of time prevents bottlenecks.
  • The item is classified as a component, material, and crafting material.
