Storage Mk.I

Overview
Storage Mk.I is a basic storage building used to hold products in a fixed-capacity container. It provides 30 slots of storage, and the amount stored can be adjusted with the slider in the storage UI. Like other storage buildings, it is often used as a simple buffer for production lines or as a convenient place to keep items the player will need later.
In practice, Storage Mk.I is most useful when a line needs temporary buffering rather than perfect one-to-one throughput. It can hold player supplies such as mecha fuel and construction materials, and it can also absorb byproducts so that an upstream production chain does not back up immediately. If an item is likely to run short and cause problems when depleted, Storage Mk.I can serve as a buffer that both accepts incoming items and allows withdrawal when needed. For items whose demand changes often, storing extra copies can smooth out short-term shortages.
Several layout tricks make Storage Mk.I especially flexible. It can be built on top of a

Some practical notes are worth keeping in mind:
- Storage Mk.I is a general-purpose item and building storage solution, not a specialized fluid container.
- It is commonly referred to as a storage chest by analogy with similar games.
- Its storage amount is configurable, so it can be used either as a small buffer or as a larger holding point depending on the line’s needs.
- When used as a bottleneck relief device, it is usually better to fix the underlying production balance rather than rely on storage indefinitely.
- The item was formerly known as Storage MK.N, where N was written in Roman numerals.
For players managing production chains, Storage Mk.I is most effective when placed at the end of a line for finished goods, or at a point where temporary overflow needs to be absorbed. It is less valuable in perfectly balanced systems, but extremely useful anywhere demand, supply, or player access needs a small, configurable reserve.
