Copper Ore

Copper Ore is one of the core basic natural resources. It is found commonly throughout the galaxy and can be harvested and processed on almost any rocky planet. As a conductive material, it is used heavily in electronics, where its ductility and low resistance to electrical flow make it especially valuable.

It is mined with the Mining Machine and smelted into Copper Ingots.

• Each level of the Veins Utilization upgrade increases mining rate by a flat 10% and reduces consumption rate by a compounding 6%.
• All Copper Ore can be safely smelted into Copper Ingots, since no other recipe requires Copper Ore directly.
• Copper Ore is primarily used for electronic parts, and on planets with high vein generation it may appear less abundant than Iron Ore, even though total galactic reserves are about the same.
• Because many copper-heavy recipes also use Iron Ore at a similar or higher level, it is often efficient to build factories near Iron Ore and transport Copper Ore over long distances when copper and iron veins are far apart.
