Duct Router

The Duct Router is a logistical block that routes items in a three-way pattern by accepting inputs from the side opposite its facing direction and sending items out the remaining three sides. It is functionally similar to the Serpulo Router family but differs in input orientation and control: the Duct Router only accepts items from its back and cannot be directly controlled by the player.

When left unfiltered, the Duct Router balances incoming stacks by distributing items evenly across its three output sides. When a filter is applied, the block will pass items matching the selected filter straight ahead (in the direction the router faces) while diverting non-matching items to the left and right outputs. The block consumes no power or resources to operate.

Practical usage and interactions:

• Input orientation: place conveyors or ducts feeding the Duct Router into the tile directly behind it; feeding from any other side will be ignored.
• Even distribution: with no filter, the router serves as a reliable splitter that evens throughput among three paths, useful for balancing supply between multiple factories or storage lines.
• Filtering behavior: use the filter to prioritise a specific item to the forward output while still sending other items to the lateral outputs; this makes it useful for routing a primary product to a dedicated assembler and sending byproducts elsewhere.
• Stacking with producers: because it only accepts from one side, the Duct Router is robust when attached to producers that output items on multiple sides — it will not be accidentally fed from an output side and clogged as some Serpulo routers can be.
• Configuration as a Sorter: the Duct Router can be configured to act like a Sorter by selecting a filter, enabling focused routing duties within compact supply networks.
• Upgrades: the block lists an upgrade path entry noted as Overspeed (dual-tech) under its Reinforced entry in some language sources; apply research and upgrades according to your tech tree to improve throughput where available.

The Duct Router is a compact, passive routing tool best used when you need automatic three-way balancing or straightforward forward-priority routing without direct player control.
