Mender

Periodically repairs blocks in its vicinity. Optionally uses silicon to boost range and efficiency.
Overview
Mender is a repair block that heals other blocks by restoring a percentage of their health rather than a fixed amount. It is most effective on high-health blocks because its repairs scale with the target's maximum health. Multiple Menders stack their healing on the same target, and their healing can also combine with other healing sources.
A single Mender has a base healing percentage of 4% per application, a reload of 3.33s, and a full-repair time of 83.25s when restoring a block from zero to full at base settings. Menders continuously consume power and any installed boosters whether they are actively repairing a block or idle, so they must be powered to function but will still draw energy if nothing needs repair. Because of their percentage-based healing and relatively low cost, Menders tend to be more efficient than Mend Projectors of equivalent footprint: they use less power and repair faster at equal size, especially when enhanced with silicon boosters.

Practical usage and interactions:
- Place Menders to cover high-health defensive structures or core-support buildings to maximize the percentage-based repair value.
- Because their healing stacks, concentrate multiple Menders on critical targets for very fast recovery under heavy fire.
- Menders remain powered while idle; after securing a sector or when repairs are no longer necessary, deconstruct or cut power to Menders to save energy.
- Menders are cheap to build and power; they are easily mass-deployed. One coal steam generator can power many Menders in practice (one guide notes a single steam generator powering up to 18 Menders with a small spare power margin).
- Feeding Menders with silicon boosters significantly increases their repair rate and range, making a boosted cluster far more capable of rapid recovery.
- Keep in mind the base input rate listed for Menders: 18/sec is given as the required input in the available data, and this consumption persists while powered regardless of active repairs.
