Practical notes and strategy:
- Construction cost is relatively high compared to many other defensive options; because of its price and modest performance in many situations, it is one of the least commonly used blocks on Serpulo.
- Do not rely on Shock Mines as an early-game mass-defense solution; they are best used selectively where their electrical burst can capitalize on chokepoints or to finish off damaged units.
- Because arcs can hit multiple times against larger units, place mines where large or grouped enemies are likely to pass to maximize damage output.
- Shock Mines are durable defensive assets: they are not single-use and can be repaired to keep functioning, making them suitable for long-term defensive lines where upkeep is feasible.
- The mine itself receives self-damage with each shot; when planning minefields, account for cumulative self-damage and repair needs to prevent premature loss of mines.
- Visual team indicators on the center decal help distinguish allied versus enemy-deployed mines in multiplayer or campaign contexts.
