Vault

Stores a large amount of items of each type. Expands storage when placed next to a core. Contents can be retrieved with an unloader.
Overview

Vault is best used behind external defenses (walls, turrets, doorways) or inside reinforced core zones so enemies must break through multiple layers before accessing stored resources. Placing Vaults behind conveyors and sorter networks ensures supply continuity even while defenders focus on repelling attackers.
Vault’s armor makes it resistant to both ballistic and explosive damage; pair
Vault with repair units or repair turrets to recover damage sustained during raids.
Vault prevents items from being incinerated by environmental or core-specific mechanics that destroy loose items; on maps or planets where cores or zones incinerate unused items, keeping resources inside Vaults preserves them for later use.
- Use multiple Vaults to segment different resource types (e.g., one
Vault for metals, another for liquids/compound items) so a single breach does not expose all supplies at once.
- Since
Vault costs more than basic storage, balance deployment: early-game rely on cheaper containers and upgrade to Vaults when sustained pressure or siege threats appear.
Vault integrates with conveyor and sorter systems; ensure input/output points are protected and not directly exposed to enemy flanks so attackers cannot manipulate or steal items in transit.
