The Airblast Drill is the final tier of drilling on Serpulo, built for extracting the hardest ground resources and for sustaining high throughput when supplied with water. It is the only Serpulo drill that can mine Tungsten, and it can also mine Beryllium and all other floor resources available on the planet. In practice, it is the endgame replacement for earlier drills whenever a deposit is both accessible and worth powering with liquid boost.

Its unboosted mining speed is modest compared with its output ceiling, but it scales extremely well with water. When boosted, it reaches a 3.24× speed multiplier, which is higher than the boost multiplier of the other Serpulo drills. This makes water supply a major part of its efficiency, especially on rich patches where the drill can cover several tiles at once. Its mining rates vary by resource and tile density, with the best cases reaching 11.08 items/second boosted and 3.42 items/second unboosted per tile group in the listed rate table.

A few practical notes make the Airblast Drill stand out:

• It has a relatively high item capacity of 20, which helps it buffer output when conveyors or adjacent logistics are temporarily backed up.
• Its health was increased to 765, giving it better survivability than earlier versions.
• It is particularly effective on scrap and sand when it covers multiple tiles, where its output can match the Laser Drill’s rate in those setups.
• It uses water as a booster, so stable liquid delivery is essential if the drill is meant to operate near peak efficiency.
• Since it is the only Serpulo drill that can mine Tungsten, it is mandatory for extracting that resource directly from the ground.

The block was introduced as part of the drill progression on Serpulo and has received several balance changes over time. Its build time and base speed were adjusted in later updates, its capacity was increased from 10 to 20, and its health and mining coverage were expanded when it gained the ability to mine Beryllium and Tungsten. The current version therefore sits at the top of the drill line not just by tier, but by flexibility and late-game relevance.
