Beryllium

Used in many types of construction and ammunition on Erekir.
Overview
Beryllium is a core resource in Mindustry used primarily for advanced construction, unit production, and chemical processing. It appears as a green resource on Serpulo and is obtainable from veins on that planet; it shares a mining hardness of 3, meaning drills and tools that can mine titanium can also mine Beryllium. In-game Beryllium functions both as a building component and as ammo for select weapons, and it is produced by several advanced drills and generators in later tech tiers.
Beryllium is produced by many high-end mining drills and energy-based extractors such as

Common practical uses and interactions:
- Construction material: Beryllium is required to build numerous advanced structures, including chemical processors (
Oxidation Chamber), power and energy components (
Silicon Arc Furnace,
Electrolyzer,
Phase Heater), defensive structures (
Beryllium Wall,
Large Beryllium Wall), routing and piping components ( Duct,
Armored Duct, and many reinforced liquid and item transport pieces), and endgame cores (
Core: Bastion,
Core: Citadel,
Core: Acropolis).
- Unit and vehicle production: It is used in
Mech Fabricator and
Tank Fabricator production lines and is required for constructing several advanced unit types. Beryllium is part of the resource requirements when producing or refabricating tanks, mechs, and ships.
- Chemical feedstock: Beryllium is an input to produce
Oxide in the Oxidation Chamber and is used in other chemical syntheses and atmospheric processors.
- Ammo and special uses: Beryllium can be used as ammo for certain weapon types (notably
Breach) and is also required by specialized buildings such as constructors, deconstructors, and some advanced drills and turrets.
- Production sources and availability: Many late-game drills and advanced miners produce Beryllium; when planning a base that relies on Beryllium, prioritize high-throughput extractors and ensure supported power to keep those drills operating. Old, abandoned structures on Serpulo often contain remnants of technology built from Beryllium, reflecting its importance in the planet’s pre-war industry.
Gameplay and thematic notes:
- On Serpulo, Beryllium is one of the planet’s primary resources and is commonly associated with higher-tier progression. Campaign sectors on Serpulo and procedural sectors contain Beryllium veins alongside other ores and pockets of resources.
- Beryllium in Mindustry is colored green, likely to evoke gemstones (emerald/aquamarine) rather than the steel-gray appearance of elemental beryllium in real life.
- Real-world correspondence: Beryllium (Be) is an alkaline earth metal used in aerospace and electronics; Mindustry reflects its role as a valuable, lightweight, high-performance material without modeling its toxicity or full chemical behavior.
- Community trivia: Beryllium shares mining hardness with titanium (hardness 3), and players sometimes humorously call its sprite “amogus” due to a resemblance to a crewmate from another game.
When designing a base that depends on Beryllium, protect and back up Beryllium veins with defenses, route its output into buffers and storage to smooth production spikes, and ensure your refabricators and chemical processors have steady inputs so late-game factories can remain productive.
