Overview

The Mech Fabricator is a stationary unit-production building that constructs Merui when it is powered and supplied with the required resources. It functions like other unit-producing fabricators and refabricators by producing a completed unit as a payload; the produced Merui is released according to the standard rules for payload-holding blocks. The Mech Fabricator is integrated into base logistics like any other factory: it requires power to operate, consumes materials from adjacent conveyors or internal storage, and outputs its payload for deployment or pickup by other blocks.

When producing a Merui, the Mech Fabricator requires a specific ingredient set and has internal storage designed to buffer production. The fabricator can hold up to twice the items needed for a single unit, which corresponds to 100 Beryllium and 140 Silicon of internal storage capacity for one Merui cycle. Its power draw, build time, and health have changed across versions: in Build 149 the Mech Fabricator’s construction cost and operational stats were adjusted — Graphite cost was removed and Beryllium and Tungsten requirements were changed, build time was reduced, power consumption lowered, and health increased. The notable numbers from that update are: Graphite cost reduced to 0, Beryllium set to 250, Tungsten reduced from 60 to 10, build time decreased to around 7.91 seconds, power use decreased to 90 power units/second, and health increased to 860.

Use the Mech Fabricator in production lines where you intend to deploy Merui as autonomous combat units or for missions that require pre-fabricated units. It fits into automated factories and can be supplied by standard conveyor networks, payload-carrying blocks, or through direct item transfer from nearby storages. Because the fabricator produces a payload, plan output routing so Merui are either released directly onto the battlefield or funneled into transport blocks or unit carriers without blocking the production tile.

  • Position Mech Fabricators near power generation and reliable material supply (Beryllium and Silicon) to keep production steady; their internal double-buffer helps smooth supply fluctuations but cannot replace a sustained input.
  • Coordinate multiple fabricators if you need rapid unit deployment; each fabricator follows the same payload rules, so staggered releases or parallel outputs avoid collisions and output congestion.
  • The reduced power and build time in recent updates make the Mech Fabricator more efficient than earlier builds; compare its stats with other unit factories to balance resource investment.
  • On the Erekir map, Mech Fabricators have slightly higher health than other unit factories, making them marginally more resilient to attacks in that environment.
  • Remember that the produced Merui counts as a payload unit: defenses or automated release mechanisms should be arranged to handle the payload instead of expecting the unit to appear inside a factory tile.

Design your base layout to accommodate payload outputs and keep repair and replacement plans ready; despite its improved durability and efficiency, the Mech Fabricator remains a critical target in hostile engagements and a focal point for continuous resource consumption.
