Overview

The Large Deconstructor is a building used to break down items placed into it. Any items inserted into a Large Deconstructor are consumed by its deconstruction process and cannot be retrieved once placed, even if deconstruction progress has not advanced. The block has a finite item capacity: this capacity is shared across all item types, so once a total of 100 items of any combination are inside, the Large Deconstructor is considered full and will stop functioning until space is freed.

Large Deconstructors share the same payload capacity as the standard Deconstructor, meaning their inventory limits are identical to the smaller model. They can be integrated into factory layouts like other utility blocks and must be managed to avoid becoming a bottleneck; when full they will halt processing even if their output or consumption chain is backed up.

The Large Deconstructor supports interaction with Mindustry logic. It can be connected to processors, memory cells, and other logic-capable blocks to participate in automated control schemes. Mindustry’s logic includes instructions for reading and writing values from memory devices (for example, the general pattern read [variable] = [cell] at [index] reads a numeric value stored in a memory cell into a variable), and Large Deconstructors may be included in such automated setups to coordinate deconstruction with the rest of a factory.

  • Anything placed inside cannot be removed; treat insertion as a one-way action.
  • Inventory capacity is pooled across item types; a full inventory (100 items) disables the building.
  • Capacity equals that of the normal Deconstructor—do not expect higher per-item stacks.
  • Connect to conveyor networks and logic to automate feeding and to prevent clogging; use logic to monitor inventories or to pause supply when the building is full.
