Overview
Incite is the second core unit tier available when your core is a
Incite repairs and constructs using laser-like building beams rather than conventional projectiles. Visually, it emits two separate building beams at once — the only unit in the game that displays two simultaneous beams — though this is only a cosmetic effect and does not change the underlying build mechanics. Its passive healing rate to nearby structures is high, restoring 198 health per second through its repair beam system.
Key behavior and weapon/build details:
- It has two weapon systems associated with construction/repair. The primary repair projectile fires relatively slowly (reload 20 ticks / 0.3333 s) and applies fixed and fraction-based repairs on hit: +3.3 fixed repair plus 0.06% of the target’s max health per hit. Those repair shots live for 40 ticks (0.6667 s) and spawn multiple fragments on impact (9 fragments).
- The secondary build weapon is a rapid-fire build laser used during construction with a reload of 1 tick (0.0167 s), a muzzle offset of 3, is rotatable, and has modest recoil and turn speed characteristics (recoil 1.5, turn speed 7.0). Its projectile life is also 40 ticks and individual beam shots deal negligible damage (0.75) but are tuned for placement/repair rather than offense.
- Repair and build projectiles travel at speed 1.0 and do not pierce or apply status effects. They have no splash damage and do not home on targets.
- The unit’s repair computation combines the fixed repair plus the fractional repair based on the target’s max health (i.e., repair = fixedRepair + fractionRepair * maxHealth / 100).
- Incite’s visual dual-beam effect does not increase actual build speed beyond the unit’s numeric build-speed stat; it remains a cosmetic identifier of the unit.
Practical usage and strategy:
- Use Incite to rapidly expand forward bases or to repair damaged walls and production buildings during and after assaults; its combination of fixed and percentage repairs makes it effective against both low- and high-health structures.
- Because it is nearly invulnerable, Incite can be positioned as a mobile construction platform on the front lines to restore defenses under fire, allowing other combat units to focus on offense.
- The unit’s fast-build secondary beam makes it especially useful when placing many small structures or when quickly completing high-count defensive layouts.
- Despite having small incidental damage on the build projectile, Incite is not intended as a combat unit; pair it with combat-focused units for protection against concentrated enemy waves or anti-unit weapons that can still harm it.
- Keep in mind the repair shots’ short life and low travel speed; ensure Incite is relatively close to the structures you want repaired or built to maximize effectiveness.
