Ceiling Trim

Overview
Ceiling Trim is a building order that is primarily used as a digging aid rather than as a finished structure. When placed in a cell that cannot actually be built, it creates a persistent construction task that Dupes will eventually treat like a job to clear the tile, allowing it to be used to dig out natural blocks covering a space. This is especially useful when Regolith or other natural debris falls onto a cell during a Meteor Shower and blocks access.
Because the order remains even if the cell becomes covered again, Ceiling Trim can be used to repeatedly prompt Dupes to return and clear that spot without needing to reissue the command each time. The order is therefore handy for maintaining access to important tiles in exposed areas or under falling debris.
- Place a Ceiling Trim order on the blocked cell you want cleared.
- Dupes will go to that cell and dig out the natural tile or debris there.
- The building itself is never completed if the location is invalid, but the order still functions as a persistent dig prompt.
- If the cell is covered again later, such as by falling Regolith, Dupes will return and clear it again as long as the order remains.
