Fish Feeder

Overview

The Fish Feeder is a building used to feed fish in a body of water. It is constructed above the water, and its function is to provide food to the fish below rather than to creatures on land. In practice, it is placed over a pool or other enclosed water area so the feeder can supply its output directly to fish living in that space.

The building’s footprint is smaller than its graphic suggests. Although the sprite makes it look like it takes up 5 tiles, it actually occupies only 3 tiles. The middle tile acts as a solid floor tile, while the feeding spoon itself does not occupy a tile at all. That spoon still has to remain accessible to Pacu, so placement matters when building around the feeder.

A few practical details are worth keeping in mind:

  • Each nugget shown in the Fish Feeder’s graphic represents 20 kg.
  • The feeder does not dispense on a fixed daily schedule. It will keep dispensing as long as fish are consuming its output.
  • The fill animation can be misleading: once the feeder has been filled, its graphic may remain visually full even after it has been emptied.
  • If the feeder is refilled multiple times, the visual indicator can only become fuller; it will not visibly decrease again.

Because it is meant to be built above water, the Fish Feeder is most useful in dedicated fish enclosures or natural pools where fish can reliably access the dropped food. Its design and placement make it a specialized automation-free way to support fish populations, but the misleading visual state means players should not rely on the appearance alone to judge whether it still contains food.
