Charred Bone

Charred bone is a crafting and building material obtained in the Ashlands. It is primarily dropped by Charred Warriors, Charred Marksmen, Charred Warlocks, and Charred Twitchers, making it one of the standard loot items from the region’s skeleton-like enemies. Because these enemies appear throughout the southern biome, a steady supply of Charred bone is tied to regular combat there rather than to a single special source.

Its main purpose is as a component in Ashlands recipes, especially early and mid-tier black forge and galdr station progression. Charred bone is consumed in both equipment crafting and base construction, so it remains useful even after the first few Ashlands upgrades.

• Charred Arrow x20 at a black forge level 1: 4 Charred bone, 2 Feathers, 8 Ashwood

It is also required for a number of higher-tier Ashlands items and weapons at the black forge or galdr table, including Berserkir Axes, Ash Fang, Flametal Mace, Nidhögg, Staff of Fracturing, and several pieces of Flametal armor. This makes Charred bone a broad-purpose resource rather than a niche drop, and players exploring Ashlands should expect to spend it quickly once they begin unlocking the region’s recipes.

Because it is dropped by multiple enemy types, the most efficient way to gather Charred bone is simply to fight the local Charred population while exploring or clearing out hostile camps. Since so many Ashlands recipes ask for only a few bones at a time, but many of them require repeated crafting or upgrades, it is worth collecting more than you think you need.
