Overview

Copper Ore is an ore found throughout Dinkum and is used in basic refining for tools, weapons, and various other items. It is one of the earliest metal resources the player will work with, and it appears across several parts of the island rather than being limited to a single biome.

Copper Ore can be collected by mining orange Copper Ore nodes with a pickaxe, breaking large boulders, or grinding shiny stones in a stone grinder. Copper Ore nodes can appear throughout the island, including Rough Soil areas, Mine Deed levels, and Airport locations, where they respawn over time. Random ore can also appear in the Desert after rain, outside of Rough Soil. Copper Ore may also be obtained as possible loot from the Gacha Machine.

To mine Copper Ore nodes, the player must have Mining License 1 and a Basic Pickaxe or better. Because copper is tied to early mining progression, it is a useful resource to prioritize once mining tools become available. The ore’s broad spawn distribution makes it practical to gather during normal exploration, especially when checking rocky areas, mine layers, and other places where nodes are known to respawn.

  • Mine orange Copper Ore nodes whenever you find them; they are the main source of copper.
  • Break large boulders and grind shiny stones when you need extra ore from non-node sources.
  • Check Rough Soil, Mine levels, and Airport areas regularly, since copper nodes can respawn there.
  • After rain, scan the Desert for stray ore spawns outside the usual Rough Soil zones.
  • Use Copper Ore as part of the early-game refining path for crafting tools, weapons, and related items.
  • Mining License 1 and a Basic Pickaxe are the minimum requirements for node mining.

Copper Ore also has processing entries that convert 5 ore into 1 output over different times, including 60 seconds, 30 seconds, and 10 seconds, with the fastest process producing 2 output. This makes the ore useful not only as a raw material but also as a refining input in the game’s production chain.
