Smooth Slate

Overview
Smooth Slate is a loot item in Dinkum that is obtained from world scavenging rather than direct crafting. It can be found by breaking Old Barrels and Wheelie Bins, or by digging up buried treasure with a Metal Detector. It can also be caught from Crab Pots, with the result depending on the biome where the pot is placed.
The item is also used as a building material for Fletch’s deeds once a structure has been placed, so it is worth keeping a supply on hand instead of selling every piece you find. Because it comes from several different low-effort sources, Smooth Slate is most efficiently stocked by routinely checking rubbish containers, investigating metal-detected treasure spots, and collecting Crab Pot catches while exploring different biomes.
- Break Old Barrels and Wheelie Bins when you see them.
- Use a Metal Detector on buried treasure spots to dig it up.
- Place Crab Pots in different biomes if you want another steady source.
- Keep some in storage for deed-related building requirements.
