Destroyer

Overview
Destroyer is a large space combat ship unlocked after
Although its listed DPS is lower than the combined catalog DPS of four Corvettes, its actual performance is higher in battle because of how it fights. Corvettes attack and then break away repeatedly, so they do not fully realize their paper DPS. Destroyers, by contrast, stop in place and keep firing until the target is destroyed, which allows them to deal damage much more consistently. This stationary firing behavior is also a drawback, so Destroyer is not a strict all-purpose replacement for Corvette.
When fighting Dark Fog nests, Destroyers still need to be fielded in very large numbers, often in the hundreds, just like Corvettes. For that reason, they become truly important only after the game is effectively completed and the player begins large-scale late-game warfare.
- Destroyer is unlocked after Corvette.
- One Destroyer occupies the fleet space of four Corvettes.
- Its real combat output is higher than its catalog numbers suggest because it fires continuously at a target instead of attacking and retreating.
- Its stationary behavior can also make it less flexible than Corvette in some situations.
- Destroyers are mainly relevant for serious post-game fleets and large assaults on Dark Fog nests.
For a complete picture of its strength, it is best to compare the ship’s catalog stats with fleet composition rather than looking at DPS alone.
