Precision Drone

Precision Drone is the second ground combat drone unlocked in the game. Compared with Prototype, it is a major upgrade in every combat stat that matters for early planetary assaults: it has 1.3 times the durability, 1.7 times the DPS, and 2.6 times the range. It is therefore a much more capable unit than Prototype when used against weaker targets.

Compared with the later-unlocked Attack Drone, Precision Drone is inferior in durability and DPS, but it keeps the advantage in range. This makes it especially effective against opponents that are below its own level. Once a player has advanced far enough to complete all progression boosts except infinite research, Precision Drone can capture Planetary Base targets with fewer losses than Attack Drone. On the other hand, it is not the best choice for forcing an early capture against a stronger Planetary Base, where Attack Drone is the better option.

One of Precision Drone’s biggest strengths is how easy it is to manufacture. It can be produced from just four basic raw materials — Iron Ingot, Copper Ingot, Magnet, and Glass — with only 11 Assemblers. This low production burden makes it practical to build on most Planets, since the required resources are common and the power demand is small.

• Best used against lower-tier defenses and for efficient Planetary Base capture.
• Cheap and simple to mass-produce from widely available materials.
• A good option when you want solid combat performance without committing to a more expensive production line.
